“The Symposium on the Development of Humanoid Robot Industry in Tianjin” was Successfully Held

Since October 2023, after the state has successively issued the "Guiding Opinions on the Innovative Development of Humanoid Robots" and "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Innovative Development of Future Industries", Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Zhejiang, Chongqing and other places have successively released industrial plans for humanoid robots and guided the establishment of relevant research institutions and consortia for humanoid robots. Humanoid robots are becoming the commanding heights of global scientific and technological innovation and a new track for future industries.

As a national advanced manufacturing research and development base, Tianjin has profound technology, a gathering of innovative talents and a solid industrial foundation in the field of robots. Some enterprises have successively set foot in key technical fields such as integrated joints, reducers, controllers and AI large models for humanoid robots, and also have rich application scenarios. In order to further promote the technological breakthrough and industrial development of humanoid robots in our city, the "Symposium on the Technology and Industrial Development of Humanoid Robots in Tianjin" sponsored by the Tianjin Robot Industry Association (TJRIA) was successfully held in Chenxing (Tianjin) Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. on June 6, 2024.

Leaders from the Intelligent Technology Division of the Tianjin Science and Technology Bureau attended the meeting for guidance. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Lianyu, the secretary-general of the association. Gao Song, the president of the association, Zhao Fengjiao, the deputy secretary-general, leaders from the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, and member units of the Tianjin Robot Industry Association: SIASUN Robot, Chenxing Automation, Xinzhi Perception, Qiling Electromechanical, Guoren Robot, Longchuang Hensheng, Fulaidi, etc., a total of more than 20 people participated in the symposium. The meeting discussed the foundation, opportunities and challenges of developing the humanoid robot industry in Tianjin and reached a consensus on how to promote the future development of the humanoid robot industry and accelerate the formation of new quality productive forces.

At the symposium, Song Tao, the general manager of Chenxing Automation, first introduced the development history and domestic and international development trends of humanoid robots, as well as the layout of Chenxing Automation in the direction of humanoid robots. Subsequently, representatives from many enterprises on the humanoid robot industry chain, including those in integrated joints, reducers, sensors and other aspects, shared the development status of their respective enterprises and the application situation on the humanoid robot industry chain. The sharing of enterprise representatives participating in the meeting provided valuable experience and suggestions for the development of the humanoid robot industry in Tianjin.

Wang Heliang, the deputy director of the Intelligent Technology Division of the Tianjin Science and Technology Bureau, and Zhou Ming, the director-level researcher, affirmed the effect of this symposium and emphasized that humanoid robots are an important direction of future science and technology industries and that Tianjin has the foundation for the development of humanoid robots. The Science and Technology Bureau will support the development of the humanoid robot industry from aspects such as the construction of innovation consortia, support for science and technology project plans, and industrial planning. 

Everyone agreed that the development of the humanoid robot industry in Tianjin has a good foundation. Although facing many challenges, it is necessary to seize opportunities, fully utilize the existing foundation and advantages of Tianjin in the humanoid robot industry, strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, conquer key technologies, cultivate leading enterprises, promote industry chain collaboration, expand application scenarios, and jointly promote the development and growth of the humanoid robot industry in Tianjin.

The holding of this symposium has built an exchange and cooperation platform for the development of the humanoid robot industry in Tianjin. In the future, the association will continuously track the development trend of humanoid robots in Tianjin and hold seminars and promotion meetings irregularly, in order to accelerate the sorting out of the development path of humanoid robots in Tianjin and promote the development of the humanoid robot industry in Tianjin.
